THANK YOU for your interest in helping us! Outlined below are several ways in which you can contribute to our efforts. We are constantly working to build, enhance, maintain and expand both our physical and digital collections.
Research Material Donations
We accept any and all of the following items: County & town histories, plat maps, atlases and gazetteers, city directories, phone books, school annuals and primary source documents such as funeral home records, cemetery records, church records, land records, etc. We also accept memorial cards, estate papers, scrap books and unidentified photos. Basically anything that may contain information about people, businesses and organizations. When in doubt of whether we would be interested in what you have, please contact us and give us the opportunity to look at it before you discard it.
One of the most immediate ways of supporting the work and services of the Research Center is through monetary contributions. Every dollar received directly supports our collections, programs and services. Annual gifts, planned gifts and memorial gifts are great complements to regular gifts given in appreciation of experiences at the Center. Contributions can be mailed, hand delivered or made through the Center’s online donation portal via PayPal utilizing the donate button in the sidebar.
Volunteer Your Time and Talents
Our volunteers play a vital role in providing a great experience for our patrons and staff members alike
We also welcome your gifts of talent. There are many volunteer opportunities at the Research Center. From preservation photocopying and bindery preparation to computer and microtext assistance, all play an important part in providing a top-shelf experience for our patrons.

Share Your Research
Share genealogy papers, books, and data
Another immediate way to support the work of the Research Center is to share your research. We welcome your contributions of papers, books, and disks of data. In print or in digital formats, your work will not only benefit a great number of researchers, it will also be preserved for future generations on our shelves and/or website. Whether it’s research articles, images of military veterans in your family history, completed books, indices to record groups large and small, or copies of the family record pages in your family Bible, all will find a good home at the Research Center. Contributions can be mailed or sent electronically directly to the Research Center through the link below.
One of the goals of the West Nebraska Family Research & History Center is to broaden the base of people who support us every year. This is an important goal; it will cement our place amongst the state’s and ultimately the country’s top genealogy and local history research institutions, and will make a bold statement about the pride that our family, friends and patrons reserve for us.
